M.A.S.T.R. Kids Program – The Shirley Proctor Puller Foundation

Our M.A.S.T.R. Kids® Program

Our M.A.S.T.R. Kids® program is built around a “literacy plus STEAM” curriculum and focuses on foundational skill development in English and Math. Students are grouped by ability with each Ability Group diving deeply into specific skill areas. Skill mastery is used to indicate improved fluency and readiness to move to the next Ability Group.
All of the curriculum we use in this program is evidence based, with Benchmark Advance Reading and i-Ready Math being the primary curriculum. As students often have different learning styles, Teachers are encouraged to augment the primary curriculum as needed with supplemental tools that are consistent with Florida standards. In addition to Reading and Math coursework, every student also attends STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) classes, giving them an opportunity to practice newly acquired skills while inventing, collaborating, constructing, and learning in a very hands-on, project-based format. These skills are also foundational when we think about the work scholars are preparing to do in the future.

Parent Testimonial

“We first enrolled our two oldest sons in M.A.S.T.R. Kids® in 2020, before the pandemic. We were looking for support for our younger son, who was struggling with the transition to first grade. In addition to the regular classes, he participated in 1:1 instruction with a Reading Specialist, and within just a few months, he was reading at grade level. I knew then that we weren’t going anywhere! From support around FAST and i-Ready® assessment scores to mentorships, enrichment and camp activities, it has been an amazing experience for my children and for us as parents. We are grateful to be part of the M.A.S.T.R. Kids® family.”
