Community Barbershop Book Club

Working with Antonio Brown, a local Barber, we helped build reading corners for 12 local barbers who are reading with young clients.  We provided onsite materials (site word cards, worksheets, reading rulers, etc.) to be used by barbers and a few extras to be distributed to parents.   We also agreed to provide ongoing training for barbers as needed so they are comfortable supporting/encouraging student reading with key strategies. The next step is to develop an adopt-a-shop program to manage book inventory for the barbers going forward.
