Bridal Beauty and Makeup Tips

February 22nd, 2010 · Beauty

Natalie Aranda asked:

The wedding day is not only the big event in a woman’s life, but also the day in which all the guests’ eyes are upon the bride, who is radiant from happiness, wanting to look picture-perfect for her big day. Bridal makeup tips, along with the proper hair care are basic to look and feel that way.

Since the very moment after the bride and groom have officially announced their engagement, planning for the wedding day should include the searching for wedding hairstyles and makeup tips. If the “Big Day” is on its way, keep in mind that it is best to look like yourself, but emphasizing special features of your face.

Your eyes are the window to your soul, so give them the proper frame applying a few of the eye makeup tips that you can easily find online, browsing magazines or asking a beauty advisor. However, not only the eyes, remember that there are a number of different makeup tips to help you look like a movie star.

Although hair care may continue as an ordinary activity, it may require particular attention in accordance to the different wedding hairstyles that you select in advance of your bridal gown. It is highly advisable to make the definite selection based on your wedding dress, but you must try several hairstyles before deciding on one of them.

Eye makeup tips should be practiced ahead of time to guarantee you will not look like a makeup experiment as a worse scenario. Curling your lashes to make your eyes open and stick to dark colored mascaras will make you look more natural, but if you want to add a dramatic effect, line your lower lashes.

Bridal makeup tips are enclosed with a simple concept: less is more. Because everybody will be looking at you on your wedding day, do not pretend to put all the makeup in the world all over your face. Masquerading yourself behind a heavily painted face will make you look artificial, particularly if you do not wear too much makeup in your every day activities.

Your diet and lifestyle will reflect in both your skin and your hair so the healthier your diet, the more beautiful you will look on the Big Day. Hair care should include a treatment with olive oil applied only on the hair’s ends at bedtime and washing it off the next morning. Trim your hair every 4 to 5 weeks even if you are growing it for an updo, and do not brush it when it is wet.

Healthy hair deserves an exceptional hairdo chosen from the many wedding hairstyles, including updos, medium hairstyles, curly hairstyles and even celebrity hairstyles, just make sure to discuss with your stylists the different styles and test those that you would like to wear on your wedding day.

Fall in Love with Leggings – Why You Need This Leg Wear Necessity

February 20th, 2010 · Fashion

Jennifer Wasilewski asked:

Love them or hate them leggings are a big part of fashion this season. If you’ve never worn them, you may not know what your missing. Leggings offer a comfortable alternative to pantyhose or even pants and can be great paired with a short skirt when it’s cold or you’re not a fan of showing to much skin. For those of you who have never experimented with leggings, the idea of owning a pair may seem a little ridiculous.

Many women, including myself at one point, take a look at this comfy fashion statement and swear they will never join the masses. If you fall into this category your not giving this seasons fabulous fashion necessity the respect it deserves. Next time you’re strolling around your favorite store, I urge you to grab a pair and check into the nearest dressing room. I promise, for most of you, it will be love at first sight.

Why They Work

Leggings offer you what tights try to and what panty hose never could. Coverage. Leggins are a great way to wear your favorite short skirts, dresses, or over sized baby doll tee’s without showing to much skin. If you’re not a fan of your legs in a mini skirt then leggings may be the accessory for you. The right pair can work to smooth out or hide bumps and dimples that otherwise would keep you locked in your bedroom. Leggings are also a great way to keep your favorite skirts in your closet year round. While you may feel that once the weather starts to decline it’s time to put away your favorite above the knee skirts, leggings will have you making extra room in your closet to accommodate some of your summer wardrobe. Leggings offer a alternative to pants and stockings which ultimately expands your fashion options. You will be able to pair dresses, longs sweaters, long shirts, etc with leggings which immediately gives you a larger wardrobe.

What You Need to Know

If your super curvy and want to wear leggings, you will want to stick to dark colors, particularly black. It’s also a good idea to pair them with heels instead of flats. Girls with larger legs who wear leggings may find that flats paired with leggings will make their legs appear shorter and wider. Unless you’re super slim and ultra fashionable, stay away from bright obnoxiously colored leggings or leggings with patterns. While leggings in general can help your legs look smoother and more attractive, the wrong pair (i.e. the pairs explained above) will have you looking less spectacular and more ridiculous. Leggings and shorts are a “no no.” Sure, almost anything can look good on certain people with certain body types in a particular kind of lighting, but any fashion statement that depends on so many variables to depend on should only be seen on the runway or in fashion magazines. Keep your shorts for the summer and leave your leggings for dresses and skirts. It’s extremely hard to find one fashion statement that looks great on everyone. If you’re trying on your leggings and you are uncomfortable, chances are that style is just not meant for you. Don’t worry; there is a style out there for everyone so keep looking. Remember, confidence is the key to style so never wear something you’re not comfortable in. If you’re still not sure, bring a good friend and you can help each other decide on the perfect outfits.

Make a Fashion Statement in Medical Scrubs? Absolutely

February 19th, 2010 · Fashion

Alice Lane asked:

You might think I’m kidding. Who talks about fashion and medical scrubs? Just because you are in the medical or dental professional does not mean you have to abandon all notions of wanting to care about fashion or what you put on your body everyday. Does this make you shallow? Of course not. What we wear on the outside often reflects who we are or what we are like on the inside. At the very least it is a reflection of our taste in colors and style. And style does not have to be sacrificed in the name of comfort and/or practicality.

My how things have changed. Scrubs, lab coats, and work shoes aren’t what they used to be. Now, things are much more fun. Now that you have been around awhile, you have a good sense of what works for you. Maybe you prefer the styles and the materials made by Dickies medical scrubs. People generally like Dickie scrubs due to their tremendous variety. They have outfits and uniforms that reflect more traditional scrub styles yet they are always exploring and incorporating new trends. You can find drawstring pants, cargo pants, and boot cut pants in Dickies scrubs. They also have waistlines to reflect the changing times. From higher waistlines to a trendier low waistline cut, Dickie’s scrubs strive to develop and produce the kinds of comfortable and stylish fits that every woman wants. Their tops are also a ton of fun too. They have lots of great styles and colors as well as the usual standards.

Another well-known scrub manufacturer is Cherokee scrubs. They are known for very fun print tops and an extensive collection of exciting colors in top and bottom coordinates. Their functionality has a great reputation too. You will find styles made to be super-comfortable while providing extra storage and ease in movement.

If you sometimes wear scrubs and sometimes need a lab coat, you can still look stylish. Lab coats no longer look oversized and like something you are hiding behind. Lab coats are now cut to more practical lengths and cut to fit body shapes better. Ooh la la.

Who doesn’t love shoes? In the medical world where you are literally on your feet all day, it is important that your shoes be not only comfortable but also able to support you all day long. The wrong shoe can have very serious long-term consequences. The good news is you can still where something cute on your feet. You know those new clogs everyone is wearing…well good ones are so good for your feet. They are cute and super comfortable. Say good-bye to the boring, all white, standard nurse’s shoe. You can find something colorful and fun.

All in all it is safe to say that we all enjoy being able to wear functional and comfortable clothes to work. Scrubs, to a certain extent remove the frustration of, “what am I going to wear today”. However, everyone likes to be able to express his or herself to some degree through what they wear. Now, even people working in the medical or dental fields are allowed to do just that.
