Get Your Ex Back – Should You Really?

March 10th, 2010 · No Comments · Love

Often when people break up, either one or both will doubt the decision afterwards. This is pretty normal, as both of you have invested a lot of time and emotion into the relationship. But should you try to get your ex back when you realise you still have feelings for him/her? Let’s look at the cons and pros.

get your ex back A lot of people will tell you that a breakup happens for a reason, and therefore you should not try to reunite with an ex, even if you think or know you still love them. This makes sense from a logical point of view. However, emotionally it can be hard to stomach.

Apart from this, your friends and family may not be very supportive of the idea. They will think or even tell you, that a new breakup is inevitable if it happened once.

On the other hand, there may have been a reason for splitting up that does no longer exist. One of you may have been at fault, and now realizes this. If that’s the case, the two of you may be able to work things out.

You have to be honest with yourself though: Wishful thinking can sometimes disguise itself as logical reasoning when it comes to matters of the heart.

If you are standing on a crossroad wondering if you should try to get your ex back, make sure that you do it for the right reasons. If you are convinced that there is a future for the both of you, by all means go and take them back. But if you are just trying to fill that void in your heart, without a clear vision of where the rekindled relationship will take you, that probably means you are not ready.

It may sound like a cliche, but remember that most of those are true: Give it time, and it will become clear to you what the proper course of action is.
